Smoked Haddock Chowder

 

Ingredients

500g (1 lb) smoked haddock or similar smoked fish

2 packets spring vegetable soup mix

2 - 3 large potatoes

8 cups water

pepper

¼ cup cream

chopped parsley

Method

Place the haddock in a large pan, cover with water and bring slowly to the boil. Simmer gently for approximately 5 minutes.

Remove fish, cut into bite-size pieces and place in the slow cooker

Peel the potatoes and dice. Add all other ingredients except the cream to the slow cooker and stir well.

Cover and cook for 8-10 hours on Low heat or 3 – 4 hours on High.

Just before serving stir in cream and sprinkle with chopped parsley.
